The 2024 Annual Work Trend Index by Microsoft, in collaboration with LinkedIn, reveals that the use of generative AI has nearly doubled in the last six months, with 75% of global knowledge workers using it. Employees across every age group that are struggling under the pace and volume of work are bringing their own AI to work (BYOAI). Key findings include that despite fears of job loss, leaders report a talent shortage for key roles and as more employees eye a career move, managers say AI aptitude and skills could rival experience. With the labour market set to shift, the report explores the major role AI will play in this and identifies various priority actions leaders and professionals must take to implement AI at work.
