PwC’s 2024 AI Jobs Barometer report analyses data from more than half a billion job ads across 15 countries together comprising 30% of the global GDP, revealing that productivity growth was almost 5 times as rapid in sectors of the global economy that are most exposed to AI. The research shows that the skills required by employers in AI-exposed occupations are changing fast - 35% faster than in roles less exposed to AI. Moreover, growth in jobs that require specialist AI skills has outpaced growth in all jobs since 2016 and these specialist jobs carry up to a 25% wage premium, underlying the value of these skills to companies.
