The latest Technology Vision report by Accenture explores a future when AI transitions from being an automation enabler to acting autonomously on behalf of people, equipping them with the capability to perform new tasks and perform others better than ever. Leaders are aware of the challenges to creating this future, which include high up-front investments in their core technologies, data centricity and quality, and talent and new skills. Chief among these challenges is trust: 77% of executives believe unlocking the true benefits of AI will only be possible when it’s built on a foundation of trust. The report emphasises that leaders must build trust in digital systems and the AI models, with customers and the workforce by ensuring accuracy, predictability, consistency, traceability over and above the responsible use of AI.
