The World Economic Forum’s New Economy Skills series provides guidance on the skills that should be prioritised to ensure business and economies have the talent to deliver on innovation, resilience and growth priorities.

This second report of the series analyses global supply and demand trends across AI, data and foundational digital skills, revealing rising employer expectations, uneven regional preparedness and accelerating wage premiums for advanced capabilities. As AI continues to transform the skills required for the workforce, two priorities emerge from the research: (1) expand advanced AI and data capabilities to manage, interpret and oversee intelligent systems; and (2) strengthen foundational digital fluency so workers can adapt tools to real-world challenges.
