Born in 1933 in Bulgaria, Luben Dimanov's creative work was largely influenced by Abstract Expressionism which dominated the art world in the 1950s. It explored ideas around spirituality and the sublime.
Luben Dimanov was inspired by the work of fellow abstract expressionists such as Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko, Lee Krasner, Joan Mitchell and Louise Bourgeois.
