Lewis Silkin is acting for Rockstar Games, the maker of the best-selling and critically-acclaimed Grand Theft Auto game series, in relation to an Employment Tribunal hearing in Glasgow which is subject to considerable media attention.
In October 2025, Rockstar dismissed 34 employees in the UK and Canada for serious breaches of their employment obligations, including disclosure of highly confidential information concerning Grand Theft Auto VI on a non-private social platform.
Grand Theft Auto VI is due to be released on 19 November 2026 and is a highly significant launch for the gaming industry.
Lewis Silkin previously acted for Rockstar in January 2026 in the successful defence of applications for interim relief for the dismissed employees, sought on the basis that the reason for their dismissal was because of (i) their trade union membership, (ii) their participation in trade union activities outside of their working hours and/or (iii) a ‘prohibited list’ of union members and activists.
The Lewis Silkin team comprises Tarun Tawakley, Alasdair McCrone and William Brown.
Thomas Cordrey and Harry Sheehan of Devereux Chambers are acting as counsel.
