The sale, which completed on 8th November, sees Autosport and the Autosport International exhibition, F1 Racing (including its 14 international licensed editions), Motorsport News and the LAT photographic agency, move to Motorsport Network.
Motorsport Network is the Miami-based owner of Motorsport.com, which has a reach of 75 million people every month across 22 website editions, operating in 16 languages. It plans to develop Haymarket’s motorsport brands as part of its global motorsport media business.
The cross-departmental Lewis Silkin deal team was led by corporate partner Simon Entwistle supported by tax partner Matthew Rowbotham, employment partner Laura Farnsworth and senior associate Gavin McNaughton.
Brian Freeman, Haymarket’s CFO, commented:
"The Lewis Silkin team did a great job of guiding us through a complicated transaction. The deal was unique in its nature and was required to be completed within a tight timeframe, which consequently involved working round the clock in order to get the deal done."
