Intellectual property is valuable both physically and virtually. Brands, and their legal teams, are playing catch-up. NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, were one of the biggest digital trends of 2021. They continue to shake up the entire intellectual property (IP) community as more brand owners attempt to understand how to use them and the metaverse to engage their customers.
How will intellectual property (IP) be protected, exploited and enforced in the metaverse? The metaverse will undoubtedly be filled with a wide range of IP protected virtual objects and content. In this webinar, we will explore:
- How could brands be exploited and protected,
- Who will own and control IP created within the metaverse,
- Who will be responsible for unauthorised use of IP and how will IP rights be enforced,
- Content licensing,
- Reputation and deep fakes - The issues around NFTs and counterfeiting.
