I am an employment lawyer with particular experience in trans and non-binary issues in the workplace.
I advise a range of clients, from law firms to arts organisations, and start-ups to individuals. I cover a wide range of employment law issues: hiring to termination and what happens in between.
Trans and non-binary discrimination
I have particular experience, interest and expertise advising clients on employment law issues relating to trans and non-binary people. I also give training and draft policies relating to supporting trans and non-binary employees in the workplace. I co-lead Lewis Silkin’s LGBT+ group (Lewis SilkOut) which has a focus on celebrating, representing and protecting the rights of LGBT+ people both within the Firm and beyond.
Employment law for organisations
I provide pragmatic and commercial advice on day-to-day employment queries, such as grievances and disciplinaries, dismissals, TUPE and collective consultations and contract and policy reviews.
I am a tenacious litigator and have extensive experience of Employment Tribunal litigation, including complex whistleblowing, discrimination and unfair dismissal cases. I regularly guide clients through the process and strategy of Employment Tribunal claims, and represent clients in both hearings and judicial mediations. As a Solicitor Advocate, I have higher rights of audience allowing me to carry out advocacy at the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
Employment law for individuals
I regularly advise senior executives. Recent work includes negotiating terms of employment and negotiated exits, as well as representing individuals in Tribunal claims. Please see the Supporting Individuals page for further information.
