Artwork at Arbor: Solo 8 by Carol Robertson

Carol Robertson’s (b.1955) paintings remain firmly rooted in abstraction. Although she doesn’t seek to record the world as she sees it, her work is never disconnected from it. She continues to make an informal relationship with landscape, architecture nature and the environment.

Her current work employs familiar geometric formations, particularly circles. In recent years, she has deconstructed these into arcs, thereby exploring a more disruptive asymmetry. Throughout her career, she has chosen to use the square, rectangle and circle for their aesthetic beauty.
